A month of cyber tips for Cyber Security Awareness Month

National Cyber Security Awareness Month starts today. To do my part, I’ve decided to serve up daily tips for the next 30 days to help you and your family make the most of the digital world – use the technology for the good it was created for and avoid the digital road blocks and sink holes that exist as we explore the myriad of digital superhighways we now have access to.

Todays’ tip is an easy one: sit down with your family and talk about the rules of the road you all want to follow for the digital world. Write them down and have everyone sign it. This family document will become your Family Media Use Plan. There’s no right or wrong way to create this document. The only rule is for everyone to participate, adults and kids, and for there to be rules for everyone, adults and kids. Here’s a link to mine. Feel free to use it as is, modify it a little, or a lot, forward it to your friends. It’s here for you to use in whatever way you find useful!

Be back tomorrow with CyberSafety month tip #2!
